Name: Jane Litchfield

Jane was born in Sri Lanka in 1945 to an American Father and an English mother. As a child she lived in Japan, and several eastern and Midwestern states. At the age of 5 her talents as an artist emerged. Since then she’s found interest in many mediums, from pen and ink, watercolor, pastels and oil painting.

Over the years, Jane took art classes from the Santa Barbara secondary schools. Upon her graduation she was enrolled in Chouinard’s School of Art in Los Angeles, there, she had hoped to study Dress and Costume Design. However, she became delayed a few years after marrying her High School sweetheart! They have been married for over 50 years and have four children!

Her education continued at Santa Barbara City College where she studied both French Draping and Pattern Drafting. She has also designed and sewn many costumes professionally. Teaching and mentoring children and adults has always been very rewarding for her.

Most recently Jane partnered with another woman in owning a Gallery where they took patrons to homes of artists and represented about ninety artists. Finally, Jane and her husband moved to Arizona the early part of 2014 and she immediately joined the San Tan Artists as well as the Gilbert Visual Art Assoc. and has shown her work in the southern region of the Phoenix area.
